Frequently Asked Questions

What level are your yoga classes? Can beginners Join?

Absolutely! My face to face yoga classes are all mixed ability - whether you’re a beginner or have been practicing yoga for years, I’ll make sure that you are able to join in easily, and that you get a great workout!

I give clear instructions and offer different variations of poses throughout the class so you can challenge yourself to the level that feels right for you. I’ll also come around to check that you’re ok regularly and adjust your poses to help you get the most out of them.

If you have any injuries / medical conditions please check with your GP that it’s safe for you to practice yoga before booking a class, and let me know about your condition. Please note that my classes are not suitable for pregnancy.

Can I do a trial class?

Yes! When you go to book a face to face yoga class, please use the coupon code ‘NEWBIE5’ at checkout to book your £15 trial class.

What style of yoga do you teach?

My teaching style is inspired by both Chi Kri Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.

Each class includes a range of dynamic yoga sequences designed to build your strength, flexibility and balance, as well as powerful meditations and relaxation techniques to help you calm your mind.

What makes my classes unique is the depth of wisdom and yoga philosophy I share to help you to overcome life’s challenges with self-love, inner strength and positivity.

I’m not very flexible! Can I still do yoga?

Definitely! You don’t have to be able to touch your toes to start yoga, but it may be one of the benefits you experience with regular practice!

Your yoga practice will not only benefit your body - it will help your mind, heart and soul.

I want to try an in person yoga class but I’m nervous!

It’s normal to feel a little anxious before your first class (I know I was!), but I promise all my students are really friendly and will help you settle in easily.

I’ll check that you’re ok throughout the class and help you out whenever you need. Please feel free to email me at info@yogawithsheena.com with any questions / worries you have and I’ll be more than happy to speak with you.

What should I bring with me to the class?

All you need is your yoga mat and a bottle of water. If you use a yoga block you may bring that along too.

If you need help buying a yoga mat, drop me an email and I’ll give you some tips on how to choose a good one.

What should I wear to the class?

Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move easily in (e.g. what you would wear to your gym).

If you are coming to my in person yoga class, you may wish to bring a little something extra to keep you warm during meditation / relaxation when it’s cold.

Can I eat before the class?

Yoga is best done on a fairly empty stomach so please try not to eat anything 1.5 hours before the class.

What age group are your classes for?

My classes are aimed at adults, but I have a few parents who come to my classes with their teenage sons or daughters!

Children above 12 years old are welcome to join with parental supervision provided they can practice yoga safely, follow instructions easily, and are non-disruptive throughout the class.

Can men attend your classes?

Absolutely! About one third of my students are men.

Can I gift a yoga package to a loved one?

What a lovely idea! Please email info@yogawithsheena.com and I will arrange this for you.

How long have you been teaching for?

I have been teaching yoga regularly since 2014. My parents are also both full-time yoga teachers! You can check out their website here.

Do you offer refunds for class packages?

My yoga packages are generally non-refundable (unless stated otherwise when booking). I offer £5 trial classes for in person yoga classes so you can make sure the class is right for you before booking a package.

What happens if I can’t make some classes? Can I freeze my yoga package?

You get 90 days to use your 10 classes in (if you book my package) so this allows you to miss up to 2 weeks and still use all your classes before your package expires.

Yoga packages cannot be extended, but if for any unforeseen circumstance (e.g. illness / moving house / bereavement) you will be missing several classes, you may freeze your yoga package for up to 3 months for a single fee of £30. Please email info@yogawithsheena.com for more details.

Update : please note that from 17th May - 31st July 2021 missed classes will be deducted from any face to face yoga packages booked due to limited availability as a result of Covid-19 restrictions, and term freezing is not available during these dates.
